A New Chapter in the “Oil Extraction” of the PV-Powered Oil Heater: A Cost-Saving Secret for Inner Mongolia’s Green Energy Transition

2026-05-05

Multi-component System for High-Efficiency Energy Storage
This system integrates solar photovoltaic panels, lead-carbon batteries (which can be replaced with lithium iron phosphate batteries, etc.), a hybrid power unit, and a diesel generator. Specifically, it consists of 147 275W photovoltaic panels arranged in 21 series and 7 parallel configurations to form a powerful 40.4kW photovoltaic array; The system is equipped with 90 12V 200Ah lead-carbon batteries, providing stable energy storage support; combined with a combiner box, a hybrid power unit, and a 100kW diesel generator, these components collectively form a fully functional energy system.

Seamless Transition, Ensuring a Stable Power Supply
The system operates in a clever and efficient manner. During the day when sunlight is abundant, the solar panels supply power to the loads, while excess electricity is stored in the batteries. When night falls, the batteries begin to discharge; once the voltage drops to the protection threshold, the diesel generator automatically starts up, ensuring a seamless transition and continuous power supply to the loads. The next day, as the sun rises, the solar panels prioritize powering the load, with excess electricity then replenishing the batteries. This cycle repeats continuously, ensuring the load operates stably at all times without any power surges or interruptions.

Quick Payback and Significant Economic Benefits
From a cost perspective, the overall system cost is 10.5 yuan per watt, totaling 424,200 yuan (excluding the price of the diesel generator). Taking local sunlight conditions in Inner Mongolia as an example, a 40 kW photovoltaic array can generate an average of 200 kWh of electricity per day. In comparison, high-grade diesel costs 7.5 yuan per liter, and 1 liter of diesel can only generate 2 kWh of electricity. Given that the system’s average daily power consumption is 800 kWh, the equivalent cost per kWh is approximately 3.5 yuan. When factoring in generator maintenance, fuel transportation, and other expenses, the total cost rises to 5.5 yuan per kWh. In contrast, this system can save 200 × 5.5 = 1,100 yuan per day through solar power generation. The entire investment can be recouped in just about 385 days, and the system will turn a profit after one year of normal operation.

Green Transition: Leading the Way in Energy Innovation
The successful implementation of this hybrid photovoltaic-diesel Energy Storage System has not only saved users significant energy costs but has also played a crucial role in energy conservation and emissions reduction. It has effectively reduced reliance on traditional diesel power generation and lowered carbon emissions.
