The core function of an AC-to-DC power supply is to convert mains power (such as 380V/50Hz AC) into stable DC power required by equipment through processes including rectification, filtering, and voltage regulation.

Input Filtering and Protection: The AC power first passes through the input filter circuit to eliminate high-frequency noise and electromagnetic interference (EMI). Simultaneously, components such as varistors and fuses provide surge protection and overcurrent protection.

Rectifier Circuit: The rectifier stage converts alternating current into pulsating direct current. Bridge rectifier circuits have become the mainstream choice due to their high efficiency and low ripple. Using a bridge configuration formed by four diodes, both the positive and negative half-cycles of the AC input are converted into unidirectional current. Taking a 220V AC input as an example, the peak output voltage after bridge rectification is approximately 311V, requiring further processing to meet load requirements.

Filtering and Voltage Stabilization: Filtering circuits utilize components such as capacitors and inductors to smooth pulsating DC and reduce ripple.

Control and Protection: Modern AC-to-DC power supplies integrate intelligent control chips to provide multiple protections against overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuits, and overheating.
